The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and Bengal’s ruling Trinamool are engaged in a neck-and-neck race for the state’s 42 Lok Sabha seats.

As per the initial trends at 8:57 am, in 31 out of 42 seats in West Bengal, TMC is leading in 14 and the BJP is ahead in 15 seats. Left Front leads in 1 and the Congress is ahead in 2 seats.

In Kolkata Uttar Lok Sabha seat, TMC’s Sudip Bandopadhyay is leading. TMC candidate Abhishek Banerjee is leading in Diamond Harbour seat.

For Congress, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is leading in Baharampur Lok Sabha seat.

While BJP candidate Amrita Roy leads in Krishnanagar Lok Sabha seat, BJP’s Rekha Patra is trailing in Bashirhat Lok Sabha seat.

CPIM candidate Md Salim is leading in Murshidabad seat.

West Bengal polling happened in 7 phases to elect 42 members of Parliament from the state, with the 7th phase on June 1.
