Inside Algeria’s Innovative Drug Rehabilitation Centre

One of the biggest problems that Algeria is facing today is the rise of illegal drug consumption. According to statistics from the National Office for the Fight against Drugs and Addictions, there are currently three million users and addicts in the country, with three per cent of these being women. However, the locals are not sitting quietly about it as dozens of volunteers are helping a drug rehabilitation centre fight the crisis. The centre which opened in 2019 has helped over 7,000 people. They follow a unique medication-free model to help patients reclaim their lives. Watch our video to know more.
