Israel's national security advisor has said that the war in Gaza will last seven more months, effectively until the end of 2024. His comments came as Israel's military seized a buffer zone between Gaza and Egypt. The buffer zone, called Philadelphi corridor, is supposed to be a demilitarised zone as per the 1979 peace deal between Israel and Egypt. Cairo has warned Israel against excessive military deployment in the region. Meanwhile, Israel's air strikes on Rafah have triggered an exodus of refugees from the city. The US has called on Israel to draft a post-war plan for Gaza. India too has expressed "concern" over Sunday's air strike that killed at least 45 civilians. Palki Sharma tells you more.
