Yet, scientists tell us that falling in love with our gadgets might not be so bad after all. In an age of chronic loneliness, AI companionship offers a form of reciprocal social interaction that’s both stimulating and personalised. However, too much of something can be bad - and the same goes for artificial intelligence.
