Lok Sabha elections 2024 result gave many surprises to voters and people around the world who were closely following the polls.

One of the biggest blows was BJP alone not making to the majority mark of 272. The party won on 240 seats, but with the support of its alliance, the count has gone up to 292 and letting the party form a coalition government for the third consecutive time.

In 2019, Narendra Modi-led BJP securing a thumping majority by winning on 303 seats.

It also saw Opposition Congress winning 99 seats compared to 52 seats in the last Lok Sabha elections.

Talking about seat mathematics, here’s a look at some of the interesting numbers which show some seats which Congress won in last general election went into BJP’s kitty in this Lok Sabha polls and vice-versa.

BJP won on 7 seats which went to Congress in 2019

Seven Lok Sabha seats - Bastar (Chhattisgarh), Malkajgiri (Telangana), Kaziranga (Assam), Bangalore Rural (Karnataka), Thrissur (Kerala), Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh), Andaman Nicobar Islands (Andaman and Nicobar Islands) - were won by Congress in 2019 general elections.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, BJP has sealed victory on these seats.
