Caretaker Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda and party leader Amit Shah along with alliance partners Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar and Telegu Desam Party (TDP)’s Chandrababu Naidu will go to President Droupadi Murmu after the NDA meet and stake claim to form the government.
Earlier today, Modi along with his ministers tendered their resignation from their respective posts to President Murmu.
Modi is likely to take oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time on Saturday, June 8.
BJP-led alliance - NDA - has sealed victory on 292 of 543 Lok Sabha seats in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
They triumphed over the Opposition alliance - INDIA - which bagged 232 seats.
Addressing leaders on Tuesday, Modi said the election results were a “victory of the world’s largest democracy”.
After landing in New Delhi on Wednesday morning, along with his political rival RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, Nitish Kumar was surrounded by the media to whom he said, “Sarkar to banegi hi (the government will definitely be formed).”
For NDA, support of Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) and Naidu’s TDP is important.
Of the total 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, JD(U) has secured 12 seats, while BJP won 12 seats too.
Other NDA partners in the state, Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), have sealed victory on five and one seats, respectively.
Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, of the total 25 seats TDP has bagged 16, while BJP won on three.
