The 2024 T20 World Cup is all set to get underway in the West Indies and United States of America from 1 June. The showpiece tournament, that will feature 20 teams, will be played in nine venues across the two countries, with the final to be held on 29 June at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
T20 World Cup | How the shortest format has evolved with each edition
In total, three venues in the United States and six venues across the Caribbean will play host to the tournament. So, which are the venues? We take a quick look here:
West Indies
Providence Stadium, Guyana
Providence Stadium in Guyana was built in 2006, ahead of the 2007 ODI World Cup that was held in West Indies. The stadium is located on the east bank of the Demerara River, which a few kilometres south of Georgetown, Guyana’s capital.
The Providence Stadium is well known for the grass mound at the backward square leg and has three major stands. The official capacity of this venue is 15,000.
It was at this venue where Lasith Malinga took four wickets off consecutive balls to help Sri Lanka beat South Africa in a Super 8 match of the 2007 ODI World Cup.

Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Antigua
Like Providence Stadium, Sir Vivian Richards Stadium was also built ahead of the 2007 ODI World Cup. The stadium in North Antigua is a 15-minute drive from St. John’s, the capital city of Antigua.
The venue had hosted six matches of the Super 8 stage at the 2007 World Cup. Two of West Indies’ finest cricketers from Antigua, Sor Curtly Ambrose and Sir Andy Roberts, have stands named after them at the venue. The stadium has a capacity of 10,000.

Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad
In 2008, the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad had replaced Guaracara Park in Pointe-a-Pierre as Trinidad and Tobago’s prime cricket stadium. The stadium is located on the outskirts of San Fernando, south Trinidad.
The stadium has hosted high-profile games since 2017, including the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) final that year. The stadium, that will host four group games and a semi-final, has witnessed an upgrade ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Arnos Vale Ground, St Vincent
The Arnos Vale Ground n St Vincent has a history of hosting international cricket games. It was in 1981 when the venue first hosted an international match, when the West Indies beat England by two runs in an ODI. This is a multi-purpose stadium that also hosts football games, and has a capacity of 18,000 people.

Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, St Lucia, Gros Islet
Named after former West Indies captain Darren Sammy, who led Windies to a second T20 World Cup title in 2016, this stadium is located on the outskirts of Rodney Bay. From 2002 to 2016, the stadium was named Beausejour Stadium, courtesy the stadium being located on the backdrop of the Beausejour hills.
The first international match that the stadium hosted was an ODI between West Indies and New Zealand in 2002. The ground has an oval-shaped surface, the boundaries are long at straight of the wicket, whereas square of the wicket, the boundary dimensions are much shorter.
Johnson Charles, who is also a native of St Lucia and a T20 World Cup winner, has a stand named after him.

Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados
Among all the Caribbean venues for the T20 World Cup, the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados is the biggest in terms of seat capacity (28,000). The venue has a long history of hosting cricket matches, with matches involving international teams having played since 1895.
Ahead of the 2007 ODI World Cup, the ground was upgraded. And in 2010, the ground hosted the T20 World Cup final between England and Australia, where England emerged victorious.
The final of this edition, too, will be played at the venue.

United States of America
Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York
The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York is located at Eisenhower Park. The venue has an official capacity of 34,000 and will use drop-in pitches that have been imported from Australia and prepared in Florida. The stadium also features infrastructure from the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, with grandstands from F1 being used for the upcoming event. The grandstands, though, will be torn down after the tournament.
The stadium will play host to one of the most-anticipated games of the T20 World Cup: The India vs Pakistan clash on 9 June.

The Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas plays home to the Texas Super Kings in the Major League Cricket. The stadium has a capacity of 7,000 and has also hosted baseball matches.

The Central Broward Park in Lauderhill, Florida has hosted CPL matches and international cricket in the past, including matches between India and West Indies.
