Details of the prison living conditions of Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, were given by the government to the Supreme Court on Thursday. Among the books in his cell was Nelson Mandela’s “Long Walk to Freedom”.
Khan protested last week to the court about being detained in solitary confinement without having contact to his attorneys.

The list of relatives, friends, attorneys, and party members who have seen Imran Khan since his incarceration in August of last year was included in the government submission.

In addition to battling hundreds of other cases that he and his party claim are politically motivated to obstruct his return to power, the 71-year-old former cricket star is serving a jail sentence for corruption.

The government urged the court to appoint a judicial officer to check the facts, and the application included images of the barracks and details of his monthly visits recorded in the jail registry.

The representatives for Imran Khan maintained their position that he had been abused and clarified that the images were of the cell in which he was being held in solitary confinement.

“It is a contradiction to the claim that a former prime minister is entitled to an A class cell with an air-conditioned room & a helper to attend to the errands,” his party said in response to the submission.
