Season three of Panchayat is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It has received some remarkable reviews ever since it started streaming. Jitendra Kumar spearheaded the show. The actor’s popularity sky-rocketed post the release of the first season back in 2020 and with two more seasons now streaming, he has become a much bigger star.
He’s an outsider when he first steps into the charming and complex world of Phulera village and netizens and fans have been curious to know where the village is exactly situated. The Madhya Pradesh Tourism has revealed the details. They stated the location is Mahodiya, located in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh.
Jitendra Kumar spills the beans too
In an interview with Bollywood Life, he revealed how they shot the show on real locations. He said they shot in a village named Mahodiya that is in Madhya Pradesh. He also said Pradhanji’s house shown in the web series is actually the house of Mahodiya’s Pradhanji.
Also, in an exclusive interview with Firstpost, Deepak Kumar Mishra , the director of the show, said, “Not only the story, but even the world of the show has evolved a lot over the years. Panchayat is facing very different kind of situation in this season. Every character of the show has evolved a lot. Raghubir Yadav’s character is very fatherly who wants every person in the village to be settled. Neena Gupta’s character has evolved a lot, and Faisal Malik has transformed from comedy to drama. This is an evolution that will keep happening on every state of the story.”
The show’s strength lies in its simplicity, its richly-drawn characters, and its honest depiction of life in a small village. Each episode is a blend of humour, warmth, and heart-warming moments.
The streaming giant’s investment in such rooted and resonating narratives from the heartland sets it apart in an industry often dominated by more commercial ventures.
